In the fourth day the route of travel was shorter, because the participants need to review and resolve all issues presented in vehicles.

They started from the Caracol 8:23 pm.

Participants got a good road to Itaituba, about 133 km.

12:00 all participants had arrived in Itaituba and went to the Hotel Apiacás. The traveling on the BR-163 is over.

Note about BR-163:

BR-163 is a dangerous road that crosses at north, the estate of Mato Grosso and Pará. There are many precarious bridges and a lot of mud pits in all extension of road.

Luckily, it rained not very. If this had happened, everything would be different.

In the Mato Grosso state the devastation of the forest is terrific. Many areas of forest have been converted into pasture, or planting of soybeans. A sad reality.

To get in Itaituba, they take a ferry to cross the wide Tapajós River.

After reaching the hotel, the group was divided to each one takes care of their affairs and preparing vehicles for the next day.

The fifth day starts the route abandoned of the Transamazônica. This road crosses the National Park of Amazônia.

Participants started from the Itaituba at 8:15 pm and followed for Jacareacanga.

With a strong sun, participants travelled by BR-230 crossing the National Park of Amazonia.

For some participants the sun brought relief. They knew how difficult the travel on that path, when rains heavily, with many mountains to climb and descend, wich are impossible to overcome with rain. Also have the floods that open craters on the way and trees that fall on the middle of the road.

An Oz footprint on the road.

At km 185, 12:30 pm, a stop for lunch and observation of airport of the gold miners.

When those adventurers arrived in Jacareacanga, they were approached by the Police of Pará for inspection of vehicles. Drug trafficking is in rise in the region.

This part of the road reserve beautiful images of the forest preserved. Wild animals and bird of many colors are seen at all times. Also there is the possibility to stop at some support points of the park to see a bit of all the forest wealth.

In the sixth day there weren't major problems. The residents of the region informed about the recent reform of the road. The rains in that year are very faint.

Participants started from Jacareacanga at 8:03 pm and followed toward Humaitá.

Much thin rain falls, and helps to keep a good temperature (different of the previous day, 40 degrees even with air-conditioning).

The great day’s attraction was the ferry that crosses the cars in the Sucunduri River, a small boat equipped with an engine of 25Hp. Just see to believe!

A small challenge, a ditch with running water is opened on the road, but with properly equipped vehicles was easy.

"60km to get to Apuí, walking at a speed of 80km / h, I went into a ditch and the car flew. This scares the participant Eladio, who came behind. Several things of the bucket flew.

After the shock we see that the car was perfect. Congratulations to IRONMAN with his special suspension, foam cell shock absorbers, torsion bars and beam performance. The whole is highly used in this expedition '- Sérgio Holanda - Organization."

The plan was stop in Apuí for a lunch (the food of Mama's Restaurant is fantastic) and then refuel the cars. Also, for know a beautiful and organized city in the middle of the Amazon, out of the pattern of cities in the region.

By supplying the vehicles, the mayor of Apuí approached the group and invited to meet and stay in the city.

The group took the opportunity to enjoy the carnival of the city, and later on some natural beauty.

The group decided to accept the invitation. The integral of the group, Bruno, who is a doctor, did the delivery of some drugs in Department of Health of Apuí. Some medicines were saved for delivery in the BR-319

.

Special thanks to Mayor Antonio Marcos Maciel Fernandes for the attention he had with the group.

Curious scenes on the road:

- Local bus with a wich.

- Wild animals crossing the road

- truck with a properly front bumper to overcome the "off-road" moments..

- Proof of the illegal removal of trees in the region.
